Setup currently used for shooting in high resolution:
Newton 16'' f/4
PRG Chameleon mono
Intes Alter D6 FS 2
For my high resolution shooting I currently use a newly opened Newton homebuilt obtained by exploiting the experience earlier gained with the achievements of other 3 Newton 10''12''and 16''as well taking account the experiences of friends who kindly haven't hesitated to "give me" their knowledges that they too had acquired through years of experience.
In this case I opted for a carbon tube with a thickness of 9mm disassembled into 2 parts (100 +55 cm), the primary cell of the 18-point floating support and the spider for the secondary I made them realize from Piedmont RPAstro who has done an excellent job both at design and at the level of realization is not leaving anything to chance.
The choice of focuser fell on a Moonlite 2''servo motor.
As for the optics were made respectively by Fausto Giacometti for the primary Pyrex and by Romano Zen for the secondary in astrositall.
The mounting is an Alter D6 of well-known firm Russian Intes, that is, a rock, holding fantastically the Newton 16''and if I ever decide to put in parallel an apo 10kg would not budge. I have a system with a motorized go-to FS2 and personally I think it is right now one of the best if not the best system for automatic target recognition, easy, intuitive and precise!
The CCD is a monochrome PRG Chameleon, large sensor, in every sense, from training in performance, considerably more sensitive than my previous cameredi 1 st generation, this translates into a better signal / noise ratio which results in a better dynamic of acquisition.
